One Week Old

It’s been one week already?!

Our pups have had a big first week of their tiny lives, having their first vet appointment and their dew claw removal. Their eyes and ears are still closed and developing for another week or so, meaning they are doing a lot of eating, sleeping, and snuggling - just as they should be!

All twelve had a great first vet check up, and are all growing well. Momma Meadow has been doing an exceptional job - we haven’t even needed to supplement any feedings this year, as all are growing normally each day.

Speaking of the best momma -

After resting this past week and caring for all of these babies, Meadow finally got to go on a big walk in our woods yesterday with me while I foraged for Morel mushrooms. No luck for me with the mushroom hunting, but Meadow loved the mom break and getting to explore and sniff the world after spending so much time in the whelping room this week. I totally relate to that feeling!
