Beagle Boys Club!
Great news for our sweet Cupcake girl, she’s found her forever family! We’re enjoying our last weekend with her and can’t wait to send her off to a great home.
That means we are boys only at Schroeder Ridge Farm, so we are now referring to our beagle boy puppy pack as the boys club. Even though they still play with their mom all day. Now that they’re fully weaned and on solid food, they can be with Bonnie again without bothering her for food. And they LOVE to play with their parents. It’s so fun to watch the whole beagle family trapsing around the yard in a pack.
There are so many reasons we love having all our puppies’ parents here on the farm as pets. First and foremost, they’re our family and we love them so much! It’s great to have them here when you come to visit so you can meet them too! But also, it’s wonderful training for the puppies. Bonnie and Huck are such amazing parents, they play gently and correct any biting or too-rough play, and break up any play fights between the puppies that gets too rough or goes on too long. This is all priceless socialization that helps them learn how to play well with others, people and pets!
Moses (our chocolate lab retired dad) and Huck (the puppy’s dad) are excited to have this boys club around, since they’re usually way outnumbered by girls around here.
Our cupcake girl has gotten extra inside time this week to get her ready for her new home! We will miss her sweet self, and all the sleepy puppy cuddles on the couch - she has all the qualities that will make her a perfect pup for this family!
But of course, plenty of outside time playing in the grass, cooling off on the cement in the shade, and even having some sprinkler fun on these hot days lately!
These little boys are so fun, and are the cutest sweetest thing. I definitely don’t mind having them around! And still, they’re ready to find their forever homes and families of their own.
